In January 1991, William E. Hayes, who worked for a Buffalo mechanical contractor for ten years, purchased the business from Roy Turnbull.  At that time, there were three trucks, five part and full-time employees and a very strong commitment to service.  Bill Hayes, a U.S. Navy Veteran, graduated from Alfred State College with a degree in air-conditioning design.  Mr. Hayes is also a firm believer of quality workmanship and customer service.

As of today, the operation has grown to eighteen trucks and twenty-five part and full-time employees.  The company's ability to provide reliable service and design/build systems has paved the road to today's growth. All men have cell phones to maintain a constant communication link on a construction site or for a service call.

In 1997, we opened our own distributorship, "A-1 SheetMetal", to meet Turnbull's needs to enhance our customer service and project efficiency.  A-1 offers a variety of goods and services with customer service as our number one goal.   We provide sheet metal fabrication, pipe cutting and threading, and all related HVAC supplies to independent contractors, "Do it yourselfers", along with material support to Turnbull, Inc.  We will design, lay out, and assist with your material needs, provide a service, check out and start-up of your self installed work or system to meet manufacturer's standards for factory warranty authorization.
